The number one app for African music service, Boomplay has named artist Diamond Platnumz, the most widely heard musician in Tanzania, according to official music reports in 2019.









The information contained in a special music report is based on data from the music app which has over 60 million users, globally with Tanzania with over 4.2 million users.





Boomplay is proud to have over 20 million different types of songs, available on iOS, Android and the web. Second place was won by sister Nandy, and third fell to Harmonize while Rayvanny took fourth. Aslay has captured number five, while number six has been picked up by Mbosso. Jux also grabbed seventh place while Lava Lava finished in number eight, the only gospel musician on the list was Joel Lgore who held ninth and tenth place while standing up for his sister Vanessa Mdee.









In addition to the artists, Boomplay has also collected information on the most listened to songs as well as the album, where the Diamond Platnumz song with Fally Ipupa ‘Inama’ is the most feared in 2019. Nandy's album "The African Princess" came in number one, while Jux's "The Love Album" ranks second and Diamond Platnumz's "A Boy From Tandale" fell to number three.









Boomplay has also provided information on the trends and behaviors of how music is heard in Tanzania. In a special note, Gospel Songs have been heard more closely followed by Bongo Flava's leads, with Afrobeats taking the number three, while fourth and fifth with Hip Hop & Rap and Reggae.
